PRESS RELEASE December 10, 2001
Come experience 'The Spirit of Christmas Now!'
An art party to find those special gifts that you saved for last is happening at Lola, Tocaloma & Jewel, 18 Furneaux Lane, Hilo, on Sunday, December 23, 2001 from 2 pm till pau.
The perfect gift that keeps giving Joy year after year is a piece of fine art. Lola is proud to present the artists who created the pieces in her Art Gallery. Meet Ann Rathbun, acclaimed ceramicist, silk watercolourist, and portrayor of birds and home grown orchids so fine; Ken Charon joins us for an encore of his ever well received paradise inspired tropical scenes; Barry Wilkinson whose love of NATURE is so apparent; Shawn Hair using impressionism to capture the beauty around him.
Joining us again are Joie and Lorenzo Ngirmidol with their unique Palau inspired handcarved wooden story boards telling some of the myths of that land as well as the adopted home land, Hawai'i nei. Making his grand debut at Lola's is Gerald Murai, Hilo born, raised, educated in art here as well in California. Viewing his art is like stepping into the atelier of a master artist with his earthy nude studies. A must to experience. Vince Callagher shows a fine eye for nuance and detail in his watercolour and pencil prints of local areas like Waipio and nature studies.
From the very lovely hand created necklaces by daughter Lisa along with the wide variety of soothing aromatherapy products, bells, books and candles to beautiful collectibles, Lola's range of products reflects her fine taste and experience in providing wonderful gifts for one and all. Stocking stuffers under $10.
For something special to wear for the rest of the Holiday Season Lola's has an extensive collection of new and formerly owned ladies clothing along with accessories.
Celebrity Live Entertainment by Alex Green is part of the festivities at Lola's and while you're in town check out the 'Christmas Peace Concert' at Mooheau Bandstand from noon to 6pm.
