Domestic Harmony Erupts in time for Valentine’s Day

The Domestic Harmony Awareness*Action Initiative (DHA*AI) along with the people at the South Kona Green Market, Captain Cook, Kealekekua Shopping Center are hosting their second

Eruption of Domestic Harmony
Sunday February 13 between 10 and 2.

This year’s Eruption features an action art pavilion where people can bring or we supply t-shirts to make your own wearable art for Domestic Harmony.  Meet some of our market artists as they come by to share their techniques.  We will be teaching yarn lei making and beading for keiki.

Featured performances by ChiChiMamas – local style mama music; Classic Middle Eastern and Indian music and dance with Alfredo & Chandini, and local great, StuHeart.  Bring your ukulele and join in.

Being close to the aina, knowing how to tend plants for sustenance and beauty also contributes to our sense of harmony and purpose in life. ‘Keikis for keikis” with Andy shows children where and how plants start, seeds, cuttings, a kind of birds and bees for plants.
Learn how juice is made with Drew.

Brittany Smart, Councilmember District 6 is coming by to address the audience about council affairs and Domestic Harmony and walk around to talk story.   Bring your questions, say Aloha.

Meet the first graduate of the first series of Domestic Harmony Talk Story sessions as he receives his certificate.

We have Eruptions at Farmer’s Markets because the people there are involved in growing good food and creating things.  They care about their efforts, they put heart into it.  The more heart we put into our life, the more harmony surrounds us.  We invite people across the island to celebrate ‘Domestic Harmony Erupts for Valentine’s Day’.   And, if you’re in Captain Cook, please stop by.

Event organizer and founder of the DHA*AI, Star Newland says: “This is that special time of the year to express and extend heartfelt feelings to those we love, those we want to be closer with and people in general. In living and acting on creating more harmony in our lives we are able to change the world- starting here with each of us on the Big Island.”
